Currently supported by Traxys Europe SA as a 7% shareholder, NAML seeks additional investors for the near-term development of the Hersjø VMS deposit in NAML’s brownfield Nordgruve Development Area northwest of Røros, with an independently estimated unclassified resource of 5.55 Mt at 1.05% copper and 1.27% zinc. The deposit is open at depth. This new estimate represents 14.7% more contained copper and 68.5% more contained zinc at 1.0% CuEq cut-off than the previous estimate of 2.99 Mt at 1.7% copper and 1.4% zinc by the Geological Survey of Norway (NGU).

The Nordgruve Development Area covering 88 km2 is composed of the three Hersjø mining licences being acquired from Holtålen kommune (municipality) together with seven exploration licences around the Kongens mine and Fjellsjø deposit issued to NAML in 2015, and two exploration licences along strike of the Hersjø deposit issued in 2016.
The wider Røros project area covers approximately 900 km2 of prospective ground where a helicopter electromagnetic survey has been flown; this has revealed anomalies both coincident with and additional to already known deposits and occurrences where very high grades of copper and zinc have been assayed in samples from outcrop and from dumps left by small-scale historical exploitation.
